Friday May 8th

Happy Friday!

Regan had a lot going on this week so that’s why there is no post from her. This week I am going to talk about my major and my hopeful career plans after school!

Going back to school I have decided to go and pursue a History degree. I have always liked history and I know choosing something that I know I find interesting will help me complete my degree. When I first started my college career I went into it as a Wine and Viticulture major, it is exactly what it sounds like the study of wine. This major turned out not to be for me and the school I went to was not where I wanted to be either so I made the difficult decision to leave. It was very hard for me because I felt like I was going to disappoint my family by not continuing, but let me tell you my family was very supportive in my decision and have continued to support me through all of it. Going back to school to get my bachelors is very important to me and I am so excited to finish my undergrad and, hopefully, get into a really great Masters of Library Science program.

Working at a library would be an amazing job for me. My career goals are crystal clear when it comes to exactly what I want to do at a library but I could do many things. I could work at a university library doing research or helping students in a specific college of the school. I could work at a major public library in a big city like Denver or Seattle! One of the best Library Science programs is actually at the University of Washington-Seattle. UDub has been one of my dream schools ever since high school and I think it would be an amazing opportunity to go there if I get the chance. Another path I could go down would be more on the archival side of things which would include working at a museum. There are many things I could do and would love to do. I am keeping my options open because I think becoming an educator would be a great thing too.

There are so many paths I could take but I know all of these paths start with me finishing my undergraduate degree. Completing that is key not only for me to get into grad school but also for me to have that accomplishment. I love school and would honestly love to do it for as long as I can but I know I would also love not having homework and tests. For many people school isn’t always the path and I am thankful that for me it is.

Thanks for reading everyone and I hope y’all are doing okay during this crazy time!

Have a great weekend!
Cami
