Friday May 1st
Happy Friday and welcome May!
Today I get to talk about all the dogs in my life! Growing up my parents didn’t really want us to have a dog and so when my aunt’s dog had puppies my parents were like what the heck why not. That is how we got our first dog Bindi! Bindi was a great dog, she was a chocolate lab and we got her when I was seven. Unfortunately Bindi had to be put down this past year but she lived a good twelve years.
My sister got a dog while she was living with us, I was a sophomore in high school. His name is Hadley and he is the cutest little whippet ever! I love him so much. He is just a little cuddler and loves people.
When I moved out to Colorado I moved in with my sister and her husband. I got to be with Hadley again and also Sam. Sam is a rescued Dalmatian mix and is a super sweet boy. We think he is older than Hadley by a couple years so he’s about eight while Hadley just turned six. Even though he’s older than Hadley, Sam has way more energy and is ridiculously crazy. We still love him though.
Like I said in my post on Sunday my sister and her husband decided to foster a greyhound. His name is Finn, he's five and he’s a very gentle dog. He is a retired racing dog so we essentially teach him how to be a normal dog. He’s got a goofy run since he doesn't know how to run without being at a full sprint racing. He hasn't been on the stairs yet in the house because he does not know how to use them. There are quite a few things we still have to get him used to before he can go to his forever home.
Being around dogs is a great experience. They’re amazing companions and always put a smile on my face. I love dogs and I can’t wait to get my own dog one day!
Hope you all enjoyed learning about our pups this week. If you would like to know more about the organization that we went through to foster Finn it is Colorado Greyhound Adoption. Just like Colorado many states have these organizations to help re-home retired racing greyhounds all around the country.
Have a great weekend!
Cami
